Using industry-standard metallurgic techniques, we refine jewelry solids, grindings, sweeps, filters and carpet to recover gold, platinum, palladium and silver. We process two samples from each lot in parallel to ensure accuracy and a maximum settlement for you.
Step 1: Intake
We receive, weigh and record your lot, noting special instructions.
Step 2: Melting
High-grade solids are melted and poured into bars. Low-grade materials are processed separately.
Step 3: Sampling
Lots are vacuum snap-tube sampled when molten, or bars are drilled when cooled to sample.
Step 4: Assay
Samples are analyzed by instrumentation using XRF. Using the classical fire assay, samples are wrapped in lead, placed in bone-ash cupels and heated to about 2,000℉. The resulting doré beads are run through acid and annealed to yield .9999 fine gold. Further processing yields the additional precious metals.
